about
Micro algae produce half of the global oxygen by photosynthesis. In addition, they contain high-complex protein structures and fats. From this either food or fuel can be won. Scientists investigate therefore, how algae can be transformed into biodiesels and kerosene. In the comparison with traditional oilseeds alga fields per hectare are substantially more productive. Particularly flint algae and greenalgae showed themselves as productive raw materials for the production of biodiesel. Like other plants also algae store their energy in the form of lipids: In other ways: They produce oil, which can be used for producing energy. There are different variants to extract the oil so e.g. pressing, washing with hexane and also the extraction with ultrasonic.
In diesem Artikel werden die Grundlagen der Energieerzeugung durch Algen angesprochen. Insbesondere die Überführung von Protein in Biodiesel wird thematisiert.
